Bad Habits in Relationships

We're all aware of the fact that relationships can be difficult, they require a lot of work and a lot of compromise. This week, Yahoo put out a great article about the worst habits in relationships and how you can correct them. They gave some awesome advice.

Bad Habit # 1: Never ending your arguments: Walking out and throwing your hands up or stomping off in disgust can be easy to do, but it also allows for issues and problems to fester without being attended to. Make sure to punctuate arguments promptly so they don't creep up and infiltrate your lives later on.

Bad Habit # 2: Letting yourself go: After you've been with the same person for a significant amount of time, out come the sweat pants, torn socks and stained shirts. This comes from a lack of effort and the lack of the need to impress your partner. Kick this habit, it doesn't make you feel good about you either.

Bad Habit # 3: Expecting your significant other to be a mind reader: So you've been together forever, but that doesn't mean that he realizes that your raised eyebrow really means that he better not dare go out with his boys the night of your anniversary. Make sure you speak your mind, calmly, and don't expect him to be a psychic all the time.

Bad Habit # 4: Not saying thank you: it's such a small gesture but it says so much, it says that you don't expect things all the time, and that takes the pressure off. It also shows your loved one that you appreciate even the little things they do, and that can mean a whole lot.
