I just read this awesome home design article... Ok, so it's not exactly about home design... but read it before you choose the colors for your next paint job, or handbag purchase for that matter...
It goes through the entire color spectrum and explains the significance of each color. It explains the mood each color sets and the effects it has on people. Want a house full of love and affection? You might be surprised to find out that painting the walls red won't do you any good. The most appropriate color for love according to this is actually green. The article asserts, "Green is the color of love...Green is the color of life and abundance — leaves, grass, plants — it’s all about growing, expanding, and living." Isn't love all about growing together and having an abundance of understanding and patience? This is all starting to make sense.
Think white walls are boring? Think again. While we all knew that white is actually a combination of all the colors, the article explains white as something healthy, and a symbol of spirituality. So looking for true Zen in that new living room design? Go with minimalistic furniture, clean lines, and white walls.
