I was reading the news today when I found this interesting tidbit... Norway was named the "best country for a good life" by a United Nations report this week. The report, called the Human Development Index (HDI) measures average income, oil supply, life expectancy, schooling and other areas in order to determine which nations provide their citizens with the best quality of life.
While Norway didn't take the top slot in any specific category, it was decided that the nation's strong performance in all areas made it the place to go for the best quality of life... The country boasts an 81 year life expectancy, an average income of well over 58,000 dollars, and citizens with an average 12 years of schooling.
Other countries that topped the list of great places to live, were Australia, New Zealand, the United States and Ireland. While some of the bottom slots were taken by DR Congo, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
